Tithe Barn Update

We all enjoy using the Tithe Barn, it is the ‘village hub’, used for a variety of functions, including village breakfasts, birthday parties and pub nights as well as church events.

However, over the years the number of people on the Tithe Barn Committee, which facilitates the upkeep and management of the building, have dwindled and meetings are no longer quorate, ie decisions on planning, improvements and running costs etc cannot be made. Consequently the village is in danger of losing this, our sole community facility, which would mean the end of public, social functions in the village unless more villagers are willing to volunteer on the Committee.

Volunteering is not onerous, nor do you have to be ‘skilled’ in any way. We meet about four times a year for 1.5 hours. We have our Annual General Meeting at 7:30 pm in the Tithe Barn on 18th July which we hope you can attend. We hope that the Tithe Barn can be kept as the social hub of our village but we do urgently need your help to keep this building for village events.

Please contact Ian Coombs,, John Murphy,, or Roger Mitchinson, if you are willing to give a few hours a year to help on our Committee and keep the Tithe Barn in use.

Many thanks

Ian, John and Roger
