Fitzhead Village

Success at the Village Breakfast

The Village Breakfast was a great success and we hope that now Covid is a distant memory, we can do this again regularly, perhaps twice a year.

We were a happy team in the kitchen and always open to more volunteers for a free slap up Full English. It is more of a get together than a fundraiser for both the Tithe Barn and the church but at a glance it seems we raised £125 !

Hard work but actually delicious and good fun too.

Thank you to everyone involved: Martin – egg chef, Roger – toast-meister, Louise at the teas and coffees, Kate tirelessly at the sink with Ian and Sue. Nic (having frazzled the veggie sausages but got away with it) with fine mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns on servery with Attius. Lorna – eagle eyed front of house, Cilla expertly on the door and a warm welcome to Cliff who is Fitzhead’s version of silver service waiter. We must not forget Alex McLoughlin for buying and cooking almost everything meaty in advance while selling 9 puppies at the Old Rectory! We catered for 60 and had 50 covers. Next time, we need bookings if possible please, to help plan; possibly October/November, we will keep you posted.

THANKS for coming too!
