Fitzhead Village

It’s fete time!

Let the band play on…it’s fete time!

Fitzhead Fete on Saturday 22 July is looking forward to an afternoon of fun activities, great stalls, delicious food and drink – and, to complement it all, Wiveliscombe Town Band!

The brass band’s popular repertoire ranges from pop tunes to film music and classic favourites, and its services are in great demand. It plays everywhere from Sheppy’s Cider to Hinkley Point C, St Andrews Church, Wiveliscombe, to Vivary Park, Taunton.

The band has become a fixture at Fitzhead Fete since a kind, anonymous villager first sponsored its appearance here in 2019, and it’s a prized addition to the festivities. The band itself dates back to 1896, and current young bandmaster Chris Grabham has helped it go from strength to strength.

The Fitzhead fete is a highlight of the village calendar, and runs from 2pm to 4.30pm at the Cricket Ground.
