December Pilgrimage Walks
Saturday the 10 December and Tuesday the 20 December are the next dates.
Starting from Langford Budville Church at 10am, across to Runington, Rewe Mead Nature Reserve and then back to Langford Budville. 4 miles taking around 2.5 to 3 hours. As they have gained in popularity, I have added the Saturday walk for those who may work through the week.
Being more than just a walk, we discuss many subjects.
The seasons, flora, fauna, walkers’ poems or prose, pray, psalms, have a period for a silent walk, contemplation and much more.
A relaxing and enjoyable change from our busy daily lives, out in God’s natural Church.
If you would like to know more about them, do contact me and to let me know if you are coming, call on tel:01823400232, mobile 07557 958013 or email stevenwort@hotmail.co.uk or Facebook Hedgerow Chaplain.
Symbols of Rebirth
We have arrived in December, ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
This is a wonderful time for families with joy, laughter, happiness, roast turkey, presents and lots of merrymaking.
It is also a time to reflect on the past year and to look forward to a year of hope and rebirth. We must also think of those at home and in other countries who have not had a good year. Let us pray for them, that this rebirth of a new year will bring them peace, joy and happiness, and where we can, help those in less fortunate situations than ourselves.
In God’s great universe, the following will be happening,
The Germinid meteor shower on the 13 December to the 15 December. Quite a spectacle seeing around 50 ‘shooting stars’ an hour.
The Full Moon on the 8 December 0408, is called either the Moon Before Yule, Oak or Cold Moon. At the New Moon, which appears on the 23 December 10.16am, it is always a good time to start planning for your hopes and dreams in the coming New Year.
The 21 December is the Winter Equinox when the day is at its shortest, and night at its longest.
The best part is, that the days after start to get longer!
God Bless to you all,
Have a Wonderful Christmas, and I look forward to seeing you on the Hedgerow Chaplains Pilgrimage Walks in 2023!
