Kingsmead is an Academy Trust in Wiveliscombe serving a large rural catchment area and has been the main provider of secondary education for the area since the early 1950s. Much has changed in that time but in September a replacement school building will open, offering up to date accommodation and facilities and an enhanced hall that will hopefully be available for use by the wider community. It will mark a new and exciting opportunity to take the school forward.
The existing Governing Body is looking to recruit new governors with the skills and enthusiasm to support the school through the changes ahead. Across the Governing Body we aim to have a range of skills and professions and people from the local business communities. The Full Governing Body meets six times a year in the early evening and in addition Governors are encouraged to sit on one or more subcommittees which deal with more detailed aspects of school life and development.
No previous experience is needed and training will be given. If you are interested and would like to know more please email the Clerk to the Governors Rob Trowbridge on rob.trowbridge@kingsmead-school.com with a phone number and some one will call you to discuss further.
